Abstract In medical treatment, it can be necessary to know the position of a motor unit in muscle. Recent advances high-density surface Electromyography (EMG) measurement have opened possibility extracting information about single units. We present mathematical approach identify these On base an electrostatic forward model, we introduce adjoint efficiently simulate EMG and optimal control show basic results on existence solutions first-order optimality conditions.
